NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 8^th OCTOBER 2007

1. PRESENT

There were eleven members present

2. NORWICH LECTURE

This will take place at the UEA on 20^th November. Jim Eyre will give his lecture on ‘Exploring Boundaries’. Gavin MacFarlane of Feilden + Mawson has designed the poster.

3. BUSINESS PLAN

Philip Durban produced a draft business plan for the NAA. He will now incorporate Council member’s comments and suggestions into it.

4. WEDNESDAY FORUM

The first of these forums took place on 3^rd October and was well attended. Membership cards listing forum meetings for 2007/2008 as well as other key dates are being produced and will be mailed to members in due course. Canham Consulting are sponsoring the production of these cards.

5. CPD

A CPD event is being organised by Carpenter Oak on 17^th January. This will be a half day seminar and will cost £30.00 to include a sandwich lunch. Details will be emailed to members.

6. AGM 2008

This will be held on Thursday 15^th May. Speaker is still to be arranged.

7. CPD RESTRICTED BID

Eastern Region has funds available for branches for CPD related expenditure. NAA will apply for funding for a projector as this is now needed on a regular basis.

8. NEWS BLOG – www.naablog.co.uk

The Blog is set up and ready to go. Articles are needed.

9. REGIONAL COUNCIL

The next meeting is 6^th December.

10. EDP COLUMN

NAA has agreed to write a monthly article in the EDP Friday Property section. Gabi Feingold will co-ordinate this and needs six months worth of articles in advance.

11. PROPERTY DINNER

This will take place on 7^th February at Carrow Road.

12. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

Monday 12^th November - 4.30 pm at the offices of LSI Architects.
