NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 12th June 2004

 

  1. PRESENT

There were eleven members present.

 

  1. PREVIOUS MINUTES

Minutes of the meeting dated 10th May were accepted as a true record.

 

  1. MATTERS ARISING

Carters have agreed to increase their sponsorship of the Norwich Lecture.

 

A response has been received from the ARB regarding the letter submitted on behalf of the NAA regarding the issuing of ARB meeting minutes.

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE

Richard Hastilow, RIBA chief executive has expressed an interest in attending a branch event.

 

Shaping the Future are discussing media coverage with a number of local architects practices.

 

All other correspondence relates to items in these minutes.

 

  1. RIBA COUNCIL

Chris Heuvel attended a RIBA Council meeting.  The new Code of Conduct was discussed.

 

  1. ACCOUNTS

Income and Expenditure Account schedules were distributed

 

  1. NEWSLETTER

The newsletter is ready to be proof-read and go to press.

 

  1. NAA REPRESENTATIVES

A change in the internal organisation of the Institute of Structural Engineers was discussed.

 

A brief report of the last Quality Panel meeting was presented.

 

  1. NORWICH MARKET PLACE

LSI Architects have been appointed architects for this project.  Stallholders supported the appointment of Mike Innes.

 

  1. EXHIBITION

Nothing to report.

 


  1. AGM

The AGM was considered to be a success but further efforts will be made to increase attendance next year.

 

  1. NORWICH LECTURE

Sir Nicholas Grimshaw has been confirmed as the speaker for the 2004 Lecture.  Date to be confirmed.

 

  1. ARCHITECTURE WEEK – 18th to 22nd June 2004

NAA are organising a tour around the County Archive Centre.

 

  1. ABS

Ideas for raising funds for the ABS were discussed and will be discussed at future meetings.

 

  1. NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on Monday 12th July.
