REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 19th April 2004

There were eight members present.

 

  1. PREVIOUS MINUTES

Minutes of the meeting dated 15th March were accepted as a true record.

 

  1. MATTERS ARISING

Roy Payne is still to draft a letter to ARB.

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE

All correspondence relate to matters referred to in these minutes.

 

  1. PRESIDENT’S DIARY

Nick Hills has agreed to become Vice President

 

Tony Cleary has attended the City College prize giving, the Structural Engineers Dinner and the Craftsmanship Awards ceremony.

 

Tony Cleary will be attending Regional Council meeting on 27th April.

 

  1. REGIONAL COUNCIL

Regional Council received just 20 responses to their appeal to all architects and practices asking for views on the future of architecture.  One of the responses was from the NAA.

 

  1. ACCOUNTS

Income and Expenditure Account schedules were distributed

 

  1. NEWSLETTER

The new look newsletter will be available for distribution towards the middle of May. 

 

  1. NAA REPRESENTATIVES

NFCI is holding a meeting at the King of Hearts on Thursday 22nd April on Offsite Manufacturing.

 

  1. NORWICH MARKET PLACE

Michael Innes has been appointed consultant architect.

 

  1. EXHIBITION

There has been no more interest shown in the exhibition.

 

  1. AGM

Arrangements for the AGM on Wednesday 12th May are being finalised.  A sponsor for the event is being sought.  Further information is to follow.  Please check on website nearer the time.

 

  1. NORWICH LECTURE

Arrangements for the 2004 Lecture are being made.

 

  1. ARCHITECTURE WEEK – 18th to 22nd June 2004

Eastern Region are organising a guided walk around Norwich on 26th June starting at the Forum at 2.30 p.m.  They are also arranging an architecture workshop for school children on 22nd June.  It is hoped this will include a tour of the BBC Look East studio.

 

NAA are organising a tour around the County Archive Centre.  Date and time to follow.

 

  1. ANY OTHER BUSINESS

Breckland Council have produced a design guide consultation document aimed at builders, developers and their agents.  NAA is to make a coordinated response.

 

Architecture in Schools exhibition will be in the Forum on Saturday 24th June.  It is hoped that architects interested in taking part in next year’s project will contact Roy Payne on Roy.Payne@btinternet.com
