REPORT OF THE MEETING
ON MONDAY 9TH FEBRUARY 2004
There were six members present.
Minutes of the meeting dated 12th January
were accepted as a true record.
The president had written to Norwich City Council stating the views of the NAA on the Market Place and had received a reply informing him that the deadline for consultation had been extended.
The president had received a letter from Local Authorities Building Control, which is a joint initiative between four Norfolk Councils. They are to be approached to see whether they could stage a CPD seminar on the change to the local Building Control and the changes to the Building Regulations for a NAA event.
The President will be attending the City College
Awards Presentation on 25th March and the NAJCC Dinner
on 29th March where the Craftsmanship Awards will be
presented.
Chris Heuvel handed out a Regional Review Paper.
Chris Heuvel pointed out that he represents RIBA
East on National Council and not NAA. RIBA East will be
putting forward suggestions for new representatives.
The Income and Expenditure Account and Balance Sheet were approved by Council and signed by the President. These will now be submitted to Region.
The next issue has been delayed due to production
difficulties. More articles are needed.
Roy Payne reported that a sixth architect is now on board and that they should have all had their first meetings with their respective schools. Roy would like awareness of this project to be raised so architects will be more willing to take part next year.
Three practices have now shown interest in taking part in the exhibition.
David Ford reported that he has received 40 entries
and judging is currently taking place. Awards will be
presented at the NAJCC dinner on 29th March.
It was agreed that £50 in the form of a RIBA book token would be given to the College for these awards.
The AGM is to be held at the King of Hearts on
Wednesday 12th May.
The minutes of last years AGM will be
distributed by email to all those on email and hard copies to
those who arent. To supply hard copies to all members
will cost approximately 60p per member. It was agreed to
encourage the membership to use email wherever possible to cut
down on costs.
The next meeting will be held on Monday 15th
March.
