NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 16th JANUARY 2005

 

  1. PRESENT

There were nine members present.

 

2.      CORRESPONDENCE

David Thompson has written, as Chair of RIBA East) to the EDP congratulating Ian Bullock for excellent reporting on a proposed development.

 

  1. ACCOUNTS

Income and Expenditure schedules were distributed together with a revised budget for 2006.

 

4.      NEWSLETTER

Apologies were given for the delay in completing the current newsletter.  Philip Durban would like to hand over the editorship.  In the meantime, quotes will be sought for a graphic designer to put the newsletter together.

 

5.      QUALITY PANEL

David Thompson sent a draft report on the Activities of the Quality Panel

 

6.      CPD

It is hoped that all CPD events be listed on the CPD calendar link from the NAA website – www.norfolkarchitects.org.uk   It is the responsibility of anyone hosting an event to ensure it is listed.

 

  1. EXHIBITION AND POSTER

It was proposed that the exhibition should be put together in time for the Science Festival.

 

8.      ARCHITECTS IN SCHOOLS

All architects have been appointed their schools.

                                                                                         

9.      VACANCIES

There is still a vacancy for Hon Secretary and anyone interested in taking over the editorship of the newsletter should get in touch with a Council Member.

 

10. CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS

Nominations forms have been sent out and entries must be in by 31st January.

 

11. MICHAEL EVERITT

Suggestions for an award/prize in the name of Michael Everitt were discussed.

 

12. GUIDEBOOK OF MODERN/CONTEMPORARY BUILDINGS IN NORWICH

Due to the Norwich Society producing a leaflet of notable buildings in Norwich, it was suggested a web-based list be compiled initially.  Discussion took place as to whether any list should contain old and new buildings and whether it should consist of just Norwich buildings.

 

13. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on Monday 20th February 2006
