NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 19th FEBRUARY 2007

 

  1. PRESENT

There were twelve members present. 

 

2.      CORRESPONDENCE

Gavin McFarlane had emailed a web address for the Norwich City Council Conservation Area Appraisal and NAA views were sought.

 

3.      ACCOUNTS

Income and Expenditure schedules were circulated together with revised budgets.

 

4.      NEWSLETTER

A first draft should be available within the next two weeks.  The printers will charge the same as the last issue.

 

Chalcroft are happy to continue sponsoring the newsletter.

 

  1. NAA REPRESENTATIVES

Paul Wilson advised of a Concrete Society talk on Wind Farms on 23rd February.

 

Kathy Thurman circulated minutes of the last CIC meeting together with a paper titled Work with Schools.

 

6.      EXHIBITION

David Ford has written an article for the newsletter asking for expressions of interest.

 

7.      CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS

20 entries have been received.  The dinner is on 23rd April and tickets are available from the NCB.

 

8.      AGM

Nick Hills is to ask Sunand Prasad to talk at the AGM.

 

9.      NORWICH LECTURE

Nick Hills is to approach Herzog and de Meuron to give the Norwich Lecture.

 

10. NORWICH AND NORFOLK FORUM

Michael Innes gave a short presentation of his ideas for City Hall and the surrounding areas.  NAA agreed to fund the hiring of a venue for Michael Innes to host a presentation and public debate.  This will be held on 24th April 2007.

 

 

11. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on Monday 19th March at the offices of LSI Architects LLP at 4.30 pm.
