REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 14th DECEMBER

There
were nine members present.
2. CORRESPONDENCE
David Thompson had emailed Teresa Rand suggesting the NAA endorse the idea of a pamphlet/guidebook of modern contemporary buildings in the city. A sub-committee of three with Tony Cleary as a consultant is to be formed for this purpose and a draft list of buildings will be put forward at the next meeting.
Income and Expenditure schedules were distributed together with a budget for 2006.
4. NEWSLETTER
The President is to approach three or four architects with a view to becoming regular contributors and gatherers of articles for the newsletter for a period of one year.
5. REGIONAL COUNCIL
David Thompson reported on Regional matters. RIBA East is trying to foster various initiatives towards new architecture courses. The consultation period for the Regulatory Reform Order has been extended and David Thompson urged members to make their views known. David Thompson would welcome members’ views on Regional Office.
6. CPD
The Carbon Emissions seminar took place with 16 delegates and was thought to be very worthwhile.
A media CPD event is being planned for 2006 and it is hoped that one covering the new Planning Act will also be organised.
Work continues on the poster. It was suggested that Architecture be
showcased at the British Academy Festival of Science, which is coming to
8. VACANCIES
There is still a vacancy for Hon Secretary.
9. CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS
The 2006 Awards will be presented at the NAJCC Supper on 24th April at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel.
