REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 11th APRIL
2005
There were twelve
members present.
Tony
Cleary welcomed Mike Haslam and Andy Fisher who propose standing as RTPI and
Subscriber representatives at the AGM.
A letter of resignation has been received from Ruth Brennan who intends to stand down as BIAT and Student representative at the AGM.
RIBA
has produced a booklet “21 Actions to Create a Better Britain”. Members are asked to bring these issues up
with party candidates prior to the General Election.
Tony
Cleary has been asked to join the judging panel for the Design and Decoration
Awards at Chelsea Harbour on 9th June.
Income and Expenditure schedules were distributed. There will be a VAT payment to be made of approximately £600.
6. NEWSLETTER
Spring newsletter is due to be distributed soon.
7. CPD
A CPD event with TRADA is being organised for 6th October. This will be a half day seminar to include lunch. A sponsor for the event is being sought.
The awards were made at the Builders’ Supper on 4th April. It was agreed that consideration should be given to changing the format of these awards. Thanks were extended to Nick Hills, Colin Lake and James Henman for their work in judging the nominations.
9. AGM 2005 – 5th May
Annual Report and Agenda will be sent to members with the Spring newsletter. Questions for Jack Pringle should be forwarded to Tony Cleary.
10. ARCHITECTURE WEEK – 17th to 26th June
The organisation of several events is ongoing.
11. HOUSING DEBATE
Arrangements for this debate are on going.
12. ARCHITECTURE IN SCHOOLS
The exhibition will take place in the Forum on 23rd April.
13. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Mike Haslam explained sweeping changes taking place in planning legislation and agreed to give a talk at an evening meeting.
Philip Durban is making progress with the Norfolk Completed Buildings Register.
14. DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 5th May at 3.30pm at LSI Architects followed by the AGM at the King of Hearts.
