REPORT OF MEETING ON MONDAY 9th

PRESENT
There were ten members present
2. NFCI REP
Graham Purling was welcomed to the meeting. He is to take over from Colin Lake as NFCI representative.
3.
ACCOUNTS
It was agreed that the NAA apply to Eastern Region for grants towards Practice Cards, FANN2009 and Norwich Lecture expenses.
4.
WEDNESDAY ARCHITECTS FORUM
The April Forum will be on 1st April on Greening the Office.
5.
CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS
Nomination forms have been distributed. David Ford wishes to stand down as co-ordinator for these Awards. A replacement is to be sought.
6. AGM – King of Hearts – 14th May 2009
Sunand Prasad is unable to attend the AGM. Ruth Reed (president elect) is to be asked.
7.
FESTIVAL FOR ARCHITECTURE IN NORFOLK AND NORWICH (FANN2009)
The organisation of this event is continuing and John Clarke will write to all practices requesting their support for the Festival.
8.
PRACTICE CARD
Still awaiting a revised draft.
9.
CPD
Large practices have been asked to put their CPD events on the NAA events website. A spring CPD event on Building Regulations is to be organised. Jon Greenfield has secured Rob Eglington as the speaker and it is hoped the event will take place on either 23rd or 30th April.
10.
TALL BUILDINGS
A discussion will take place on Thursday 12th April and the NAA will then formulate a response.
11. NORWICH AREA JOINT CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE (“NAJCC”)
Two more architects are needed to sit on this committee.
12. PLANNING
The Broads Authority has changed the appeals procedure for householders in their area. Appeals will now be judged solely on the information submitted at the time of the planning application. There is also a new nationwide Planning rule of only “one free go” per site. The NAA will look at this alongside the Killian Pretty response with a view to appraising members.
