NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 13th JUNE 2005

 

  1. PRESENT

The new Council met and there were 10 members present.

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE

An email had been received from Region about the Norfolk Arts Partnership.  Nick Hills is to contact NAP to try and raise the profile of Architecture as an Art.

 

An email had been received from an Architect advising the Practice leaflets, which are on display in Council Offices, are out of date.  He has been advised that all registered practices are now on the website and that the out of date leaflets can been removed.

 

  1. ACCOUNTS

Income and Expenditure schedules were distributed.  Approximately £600 has been paid out to Customs and Excise.

 

4.      NEWSLETTER

The Summer issue is due out in about a month’s time.

 

5.      REGIONAL COUNCIL

The next meeting is 14th June.

 

6.      CPD

The TRADA event will be held on 6th October.

Tony Cleary will put forward proposals for a Carbon Emissions seminar at the next meeting.

 

  1. ARCHITECTURE IN SCHOOLS

Roy Payne is happy to coordinate this event for a further year.

                                                                                         

8.      ARCHITECTURE WEEK – 17th to 26th June

All events have been organised and advertised on the website.  Teresa Rand will ensure they appear in the EDP Event Guide.  The AW events guide for Eastern Region has not yet been received.

9.      NORFOLK BUILDINGS REGISTER

Philip Durban will finalise costings for this by the next meeting.   www.norfolkbuildings.co.uk.

 

10. NORWICH LECTURE

There has been no response from the invitation sent to Dr Frei Otto.  Alternative speakers were discussed and Tony Cleary will make the necessary contacts.

 

11. VACANCIES

There are still vacancies for Hon Secretary, BIAT representative, Student representative and vice president.

 

12. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on Monday 11th July 2005
