NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF THE MEETING ON MONDAY 23rd 2007

 

1.    PRESENT

There were eleven members present

 

2.    PRESIDENT’S INTRODUCTION

John Clarke thanked Nicholas Hills and Council for their work over the past two years and announced that Michael Innes had volunteered to take on the role of Vice President.

 

3.    PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

A list of nine topics for monthly discussion was drawn up.  This will be advised to members in due course along with times and venue and will commence in October.

 

4.    ROLE OF THE NAA

A list of 10 points explaining “Who we are and What we are here for” will be drawn up and discussed at the next meeting.

 

5.    PLANNED ACTIVITIES

A speaker for the Norwich Lecture needs to be agreed as soon as possible and is currently being dealt with by Gary Pearce.  A date for next year’s AGM will be agreed in September and these dates along with the discussion group meetings will be circulated as soon as possible.  Roy Payne will contact City Council to see if Architects in Schools can be resurrected.

 

6.    NEWSLETTER

Gabi Feingold is in contact with the EDP about a regular monthly column in the Property section.  Philip Durban has set up a Blog – www.naablog.co.uk

 

7.    CITY HALL MAKEOVER

Michael Innes is continuing to push this forward.  Support has been received from Charles Clarke and Central Norwich Citizens Forum.  City Council still fails to grasp the fact that the proposals are self-financing and Michael Innes is continuing to push this forward. 

 

8.    DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on Monday 10th September at the offices of LSI Architects LLP at 4.30 pm.
