NORFOLK ASSOCIATION OF ARCHITECTS

REPORT OF MEETING ON MONDAY 14th JANUARY 2008

 

1.    PRESENT

There were nine members present

 

2.    EASTERN DAILY PRESS COLUMN

It is hoped this will start in February.  The first twelve subjects have been agreed.

 

3.    CRAFTSMANSHIP AWARDS

Ray Harris of NPS, along with Roy Payne will judge the awards.

 

4.    CPD

Places on the Carpenter Oak seminar on 17th January can be booked on www.naaevents.co.uk  So far 24 places have been booked.

 

5.    AGM 2008 – Thursday 15th May

Richard Brindley is to be asked to speak at the AGM

 

6.    NORWICH LECTURE - 2008

David Chipperfield is unable to commit to speaking so Edward Cullinan will be approached.

 

7.    NEWS BLOG – www.naablog.co.uk       

The blog has not generated any comments.  It was suggested that it could be used for an exchange of views on the planning system.

  

8.    ACCOUNTS

The accounts for the year to 31.12.07 were agreed and signed.  The budget for 2008 was agreed.

 

9.    NAA REPRESENTATION

David Ford has agreed to be on the Norwich Society Planning Appraisal sub-committee.  NAA are endeavouring to get a representative on the Quality Panel.

 

10. WEDNESDAY ARCHITECTS FORUM

A venue needs to be agreed from April 2008 onwards.

 

11. ARCHIVE MATERIAL

A file on the Rouen visit of 1967 will be given to the Norfolk Archive.

 

12. DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will be held on Monday 11th February at LSI’s offices.
